This is an interesting post to read. After reading this post, I can see why many of them end up with a ton of problems after the Olympics such as mental health problems and suffering from injuries for a long time. Thank you for sharing this amazing post.
This is the side of elite athletics that isn't discussed. It makes sense that while they may seem like the most fit people on the outside, they could be fraught with so much damage internally. It breaks my heart that the people relied on to train and support them could be fostering the negative behaviors that they are suffering from. And, given their own personal drives, most of them wait to address these issues at the conclusion of their careers, if at all. Very poignant post and a great time to bring attention to what these amazing people representing our country are going through.
i agree so much! i think the worst part of it is that the sport and the coaches they turn to for their passion and income can then hurt them in terms of health
